Choosing the Name and Making it Legal

I chose the name Lindenne for my retail business because I have always loved it. It was my grandmother's middle name. It fits the business because it is classy, recognizable and sophisticated.
To legally use this name, I first went onto the state of Tennessee's website (https://tnbear.tn.gov/Ecommerce/Nameavailability.aspx) to make sure the name wasn't already taken. I found that Linden was taken, but Lindenne was not. I first thought of summarizing the business name to Linden, but Lindenne was her actual middle name, so decided to go with that.
I went to the US Patent and Trademark Office's website and made sure Lindenne was not trademarked. I then did a simple Google search to make sure no one was using the name either. Came back good! I then looked to see if a web domain name was available. Godaddy.com shows that lindenne.com is avaiable for purchase. I then looked into how to register a DBA (doing business as). This would be completed at the Davidson County Clerk's Office because I want Lindenne to be in Nashville.
